Tonawanda, NY, November 9, 2015, Richard Jenkins, Retired Sergeant First Class E-7 and 25Z Visual Information Chief for the U.S. Army, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in military communications.
Having served the US Army for 23 years, Mr. Jenkins experienced feats that many others haven’t in a lifetime; he served in Vietnam between 1967 and 1968 and Korea between 1980 and 1982. Additionally, he is a Cold War veteran who served in Germany, Korea and Panama. Now retired, he continues to serve with many organizations as an educator and mentor for veterans in rehab facilities. Mr. Jenkins is actively involved with the Dallas Safari Club, the Boone and Crockett Club, the Disabled American Veterans organization and The American Legion.
In recognition of his excellence in his career, Mr. Jenkins was the two-time recipient of a meritorious service medal and a three-time recipient of a commendation medal. Additionally, he earned a Vietnam Service Medal with Three Stars, a meritorious unit citation, a Korean Defenders Service Medal and a Cold War Certificate. When asked of his success, Mr. Jenkins admits that it has come to him because of his unwavering commitment to always learning and expanding his knowledge of other areas of the military.
