Cumberland, RI, Carole Angolano, Retired Chief Warrant Officer 5 for the RI Army National Guard and Adjunct Professor for Salve Regina University & Trident University, has been recognized by Elite American military for dedication, achievement and leadership in education.
Dr. Angolano always wanted to be in the military. Her fathers and uncles were military members and she was inspired by their dedication to serving their country. Dr. Angolano joined the Army National Guard in 1974 and retired in 2013 after 38 years of service. Over the course of her illustrious career, she was honored for her exceptional work and dedication to protect and serve by receiving the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Rhode Island Star, Army Achievement Medal and Reserve Component Achievement Medal, among others. Dr. Angolano is very proud of her numerous accomplishments and in succeeding in a male-dominated field.
While her military career is done, Dr. Angolano has already jumped into her second career as a professor. She always believed in the value of a well-rounded education and is a self-proclaimed overachiever. These qualities have led her to serve as an adjunct professor at Salve Regina University & Trident University, where she received a Ph.D. in IT security. Dr. Angolano has gained a wealth of knowledge working in information technology security over the years and she feels that sharing this knowledge with students is an excellent way to develop the future cyber security professionals to keep the U.S. safe. A natural born leader with unmatched technical skills, Dr. Angolano is eager to continue developing as an educator and preparing students for careers in IT security in the coming years.
