HAWAII, March 10, 2014, Cheryl Wilkinson, Veteran Consultant for Transitional Assistance, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in working with veterans.Due to her own experiences transitioning back into civilian life, Ms. Wilkinson made the decision to work with other veterans by helping them find employment and settle back into the civilian lifestyle. Ms. Wilkinson was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army after 23 years of service in 2009, and has drawn upon her past experience and strong skill set to create lasting bonds with veterans. In her role, she is responsible for working in human resources as a medically-retired reserve soldier, coaching veterans leaving active duty, assisting veterans in finding a job after leaving the military, or any other service they need assistance with, and collaborating with other organizations to assist veterans, such as Dress for Success and resume writing organizations. She also assists with VA benefits, and conducts public speaking engagements to groups of veterans.Ms. Wilkinson has more than 27 years of experience in human resources and is highly regarded for her project planning and organizations skills. Prior to focusing her efforts on consulting, she was an integral member of the United States Department of Defense. Ms. Wilkinson served as a public relations professional, and worked in human resource management, customer service, public affairs, and strategic operations for more than 24 years. She was also the area chair of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and a human resource specialist for the United States Army Reserve.Ms. Wilkinson attributes her success to God, her family and her experiences in the U.S. Army. She believes in living life with integrity and loyalty, and hopes to continue providing fellow veterans with the services they need to live full and well-rounded lives after active duty.
