MILFORD, IN, April 17, 2014, Cyrus 1st Sgt. Cyrus R. McAllister III, retired first sergeant for the United States Army, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in the protection of the United States.
Mr. McAllister was drafted into the United States Army as a young man. He was inspired by his father to continue serving in the military, and spent more than two decades in the Army. Mr. McAllister worked in its nuclear weapons department for 21 years where he assisted in maintaining nuclear warheads, and his unit repaired, maintained, tore down and built nuclear weapons from scratch.
Throughout his career with the Army, Mr. McAllister worked as a customs inspector in Korea; he worked in course development at Redstone Arsenal, and helped rewrite the 35F course and develop the 55 Gulf 20 NCO course. Mr. McAllister’s other titles have included squad leader and platoon sergeant. When he served as first sergeant, he was responsible for the functionality of the unit. Mr. McAllister received many certificates, commendation medals and seven good conduct recognitions from the United States Army. He was also recognized for having driven .25 million miles without incident.
Mr. McAllister attributes his success to the support he receives from his father. In the coming years, he wants to continue enjoying his retirement and building computers for his family and friends. Mr. McAllister is associated with the Association of United States Army and Non-Commissioned Officers Association, and is a civilian member of the Indiana State Troopers Association and the Indiana Sheriffs Association.
