Purnell Rudolph Kenner is the Chief Correction Supervisor and Lieutenant at the Department of Justice. With heightened strengths in the areas of teaching and supervising, Mr. Kenner is primarily in charge of overseeing 50 officers and ensuring systems are in place for smooth operation of the institution, and assuring the safety of all staff. Mr. Kenner also enforces all rules and regulations relevant to the security of the department as well as all staff members. He became involved in his profession after he retired from the military on January 1999, subsequent to serving 22 years as an E-7, as he was interested in law enforcement. In the Army, he was a drill sergeant and instructor in the infantry field. He served in Germany, Italy, Japan, Philippines, Granada, Panama and Desert Storm. He is a recipient of a number of military decorations, including the Supervisor of the Quarter Award, Instructor of the Year Award, and eight Army Commendation Medals.
