MIDDLEBOROUGH, MA, October 22, 2009 Jason F. Ruth, Rear Detachment Commanding Officer for the Massachusetts Army National Guard, has been recognized by Elite American Military for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in military service.
Mr. Ruth has devoted the last 14 years to the National Guard. Best noted for his leadership skills, he is responsible for allocating budgets for military training, training soldiers on equipment and serving as commander for an aviation unit. Mr. Ruth credits military service for saving him; troubled as a young man, he found himself rethinking his life when his grandfather inspired him to join the National Guard. Now an upstanding soldier respected by his peers he attributes his success to the support that he receives from his family, particularly his sons, who motivate him to be a good role model.
A graduate of Liberty University, Mr. Ruth received a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in leadership in 2010. Mr. Ruth also graduated from Thomas Edison State College where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Science and Technology with a dual major in aviation maintenance technology and air traffic control in 2008. He is a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Quartermaster Association and a 32nd degree freemason. Mr. Ruth plans to pursue a law degree and aspires to become a battalion commander within the next 10 years.
