Valdosta, GA, August 18, 2011, Major Cassandra Campbell, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner for the U.S. Air Force, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in women’s health care.
For the past 17 years, Maj. Campbell has been delivering high-quality health care to active members and dependents of the U.S. military. She currently provides a wide range of care, including birth control counseling and gynecological procedures, to 7,500 individuals. In recognition of her nursing abilities, she was recently honored with the Valdosta Excellence in Nursing Award from the City of Voldosta. Additionally, she was named the Air Combat Nurse Practitioner of the Year in 2009.
Maj. Campbell earned a Master of Science in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University after she completed a Bachelor of Science in nursing from the University of Delaware. She supplemented the degrees with an inpatient obstetrical nursing certification and a women’s health nurse practitioner certification. Understanding that health care is not a stagnant field, Maj. Campbell stays abreast of the ever-changing industry through continuing education courses and professional affiliations. She holds memberships with the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health, AWHONN and Sigma Theta Tau International.
