VISTA, CA, June 13, 2011, Alan Reid, Senior Information Systems Analyst for A2Z, Inc., Logistics Services, has been recognized by Elite American Military for dedication, achievements and leadership in information technology management.
Following a highly decorated career which spanned three decades in the U.S. Marine Corps, Mr. Reid is now the senior information systems analyst for A2Z, Inc., Logistics Services. Offering naval logistics information systems support, he is responsible for troubleshooting issues, such as restoring databases and providing backup services. He also teaches system administration classes to sailors, having gained extensive knowledge as a result of an MBA and bachelor’s degree in information technology management. Mr. Reid attributes his success to the long hours he commits to see a project from start to finish.
Mr. Reid is in charge of handling rraining, backup services, troubleshooting and long-distance support. he also teaches system administration classes to sailors, restores databases, and performs daily checks on multiple Windows, Linux and Unix platforms. In addition to these responsibilities, Mr. Reid is in charge of accomplishing daily, weekly and monthly tape backups, snapshots, and ghost recovery solutions for all systems, troublshooting and resolving naval afloat information technology system issues in a manner consistent with a mission-critical logistics environment while escalating issues as required, and documentig problems, the action taken, and resolutions for each issue. He sets up user accounts, regulates and monitors file access and file sharing to ensure confidentiality and proper use in an active directory environment, performs advanced troubleshooting, resolution and remedial maintenance on desktop, network, and systems hardware within the organization, and also provides advance troubleshooting services, remediating and resolving software issues within the organization. With a wealth of knowledge and experience under his belt, Mr. Reid provides extensive customer support with both face-to-face and telephone consultation, and configures and documents standard desktop computer workstations to include virtualizations for classrooms and users. He also analyzes and monitors the existing network for efficiency and effectiveness, including server performance, activity, and memory and disk space, and maintains network, organizational, and access security by performing updates and software patches to ensure up-to-date compliance with U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, including the DOD Intelligence Information Systems (DODIIS) baseline. Moreover, Mr. Reid conducts high-level inspections, deployed evaluations, and pre-deployments evaluation of IT systems aboard U.S. naval vessels, and conducts training on logistical IT systems and applications.

Upon reflecting on a rewarding career, Mr. Reid marks many climaxes and unforgettable experiences. He pinpoints the highlights of his career as the planning, coordination and successful deployment of Third Marine Air Wing Information Systems and support to Iraq in execution of the global war on terrorism. In the scope of three months, he set up three disparate locations to support 27 aviation units and two support ships consisting of 216 aircraft and more than 5,000 personnel working with local computer systems to satellite communications.
